Due to its group shoot nature with approximately 20 photographers attending, we did not get any time to photograph Carla one-on-one as we prefer to do. Despite that, we did gain learn some valuable lessons during that group shoot.

  1. The fine dust, silt, and clay that make up the dry lake bed get everywhere. Don’t take the tops off Jeep when doing a photo session there.  Leave them on. I don’t think we ever got all the dust vacuumed from the interior after that outing.
  2. Be respectful of the other photographers attending group sessions. Be mindful of your surroundings. Try not to walk in front of anyone as that could ruin their photograph or cause them to miss the shot they were hoping for.
  3. You can still have meaningful interactions with models in a group session. Just don’t be that one photographer that takes over the shoot giving posing instructions and not letting other photographers take their turn.
  4. Speak up so you can get the shots you want and/or need for your portfolio, project, training, or practice.

Even though it was a group shoot and we didn’t get any one-on-one time with Carla, we still had a great time interacting with and photographing her. She was a lot of fun to work with. We would definitely like to work with her again if the opportunity arises.

We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do.
